Our Mission
We all come from different backgrounds, different jobs, different life problems and philosophies.
So how do you single out one common denominator that describes all our individual personalities into something that sums up our general identity... Simple, the promoting of public awareness of motorcycles on the road.
It is important to remind car and truck drivers that they share the road with motorcycles and that they need to pay special attention, especially during the summer months, to motorcycles.
To many fellow rides die or are seriously injured each year. Many of these accidents are caused by driver negligence, unaware of the motorcycle's presents on the road. However, too many of these accidents are due to the motorcycle operator's own fault.
The Victims of Amadán encourage all riders, New and Experienced, to have fun while riding safe.
How do we do this?
Contacting corporations to add PSA ads to their web sites. Organize group rides and promote safe riding habits to motorcycle operators.
A little bit about The Victims of Amadán
What can we say about The Victims of Amadán, we're a social group that promotes motorcycle awareness and motorcycle safety.
Some of us drink, smoke, respect authority, have a job, have a life, have kids. Some of us are or were SCAdians or Dagorhirians or both. But on the other hand, some of us aren't, don't and never were. But we do like to harass each other, have fun and none of us seem to have a problem with making an ass of ourselves from time to time.
Some might say we're a little off. Some might say we're rude, obnoxious or just plain nuts.
So this, along with the our love to ride (And lets face it, ain't none of us rich.) bring us together as The Victims of Amadán.
We are just a bunch of people that like to ride and have fun.
We do not use or carry drugs at any time while riding.
This group rides legal and clean both on our persons and our vehicles.
Myths About Bikers
In an effort to dispel some of the myths about bikes, it is important to note that not all bikers are hell-raising, drug pushing, rapists, thugs and killers. In fact only a small percentage of motorcycle club are associated with criminal activities.
To spite popular belief most bikers you meet are actually really nice. Just because we wear black leather and ride load bikes doesn't mean that we're trying to be bad-ass-bikers. Sure the “biker look” is cool and all; but the real reason for the leather is safety. Truth be told, black leather is hot in the summer. Its not fun to wear in 90 degree heat.
And lets face it, not everybody looks good in leather chaps. That's more the exception than the rule.
Exhibit A: Exception to the Rule.
Although annoying to some, loud bikes are also safety.
“LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES”
Its true. Even if you're not looking out for bikes, if you hear them, you'll know they are there. If you don't hear them you might cut them off or pull out in front of them.
So please disregard the images popularized by Hollywood in movies, we just want to ride and that means we have to share the roads.
(Don't get me wrong, Brando was da bomb in “The Wild One”.)

How to become a Victims of Amadán
Just let us touch you... Seriously tho...
There really isn't much to it. You don't even need to own a bike. However it is preferred.
Just ride with us a few time. If we like you and we'll invite you.
We are a picky about who joins us, so just because you ride with us doesn't mean you're touched (accepted).
Favorable Personality Traits for Consideration.
Non-Confrontational - We're poor and can't afford the Legal & Medical bills. Nor do any of us wish to start trouble with anyone.
Saftey Minded - We like to have fun, but we like to be safe about it, if you want to do wheelies at 90MPH while we riding down the road, apply to your local crotch rocket group, not here.
Dark/Dry/Non-PC/Mel Brooks Sense of Humor - First and foremost, we fuck with each other. Vary little is off limits.
If you can't take a joke, don't ride with us.
If your feelings get hurt easily, don't ride with us.
If you get embarrassed easily, don't ride with us.
All Around Nice Guy - To spite how we treat each other, that is not representative of the way we treat others. Just because we act like dicks doesn't mean that we are.
Respect for each other is why we can be such assholes to one another. Respect for everyone else is why we are not assholes to others.
Sure we might get loud in bars and restaurants or while walking down the street, but we'll still hold the door for a lady and give the right-a-way to an old man and watch our language in front of little kids.
So Who Is Amadán
Amadán is a figure from Celtic Mythology. It is said that one touch by his hand would cause madness.
Our Logo, you'll notice, is reminiscent of the Tarot Card representing the FOOL. The FOOL Card has a double meaning associated with it. At first glance it appears that this idiot is riding carelessly over a cliff. This would imply that this guy is too dumb to know that he should stop.
On the other hand, since we do not see what is beyond the edge, we do not know how foolhardy this guy really is. There might be something to catch him or the drop might not be as far as we perceive it.
This would imply an enlightenment that others have not attained or unable to comprehend.
This relates to every rider that straddles a bike and takes to the road. Because any person who willingly rides a 2 wheeled machine on the roads without any protection between themselves and the pavement or cars, IS truly TOUCHED in the head. But the enjoyment, fun and thrill of doing it, is something that not everyone can comprehend...
