In the State of Ohio all laws concerning gambling are under the aspics of the Attorney General. Raffles are a considered a type of gambling according to Revised Code Chapter 2915.092. As part of these provisions the lawmakers provided considerations to give the charity comfort and protection when using outside assistance. Here is the main requirement of the State:
Professional Solicitor: An outside source that ASSISTS charitable organizations must register with the state as a “professional solicitor.”
Bond: The professional solicitor must secure and file a bond with the Attorney General’s office.
According to the legislature the professional solicitor CANNOT have access to any funds generated by its efforts. All monies must go directly into the charity’s bank account with no exposure to the professional solicitor.
In addition the these safeguards RaffleDazzle LLC has devised a means whereby the charity is never at risk to lose any money in the unlikely event the raffle has to be cancelled. These details will be discussed in a meeting to be arranged.
For the above reasons it is easy to understand how RaffleDazzle LLC can say the charity is totally protected with NO risk of losing any money at any time.
